Project 365 - Day 207

It's been another long day in the data mines, so it was nice to get out and get a few photos of the girls.

Regal beast!

Sisterly love!

Clearly this amuses her!

Project 365 - Day 206

Day 206 - Sunday 25 July 2021, aka Daisy's Birthday

It's official!  Daisy has turned the big 5!  (It sounds better when I say I turned the big 5-0 and Daisy turned the big 5 in the same year...)

Needless to say, silly clothing items were donned.

Non-flattering wide angle lens here...

Pensive Black Dog.

There were presents! (Lucy-Fur gave Daisy the present, thinking that in doing so she'd be allowed to play with it.  She thought correctly!)

There were birthday snacks!

There was much looking regal.

There was much posing from the Sisters Ridiculous!

There were crazy dog zoomies!

There was rolling around in our best-we-can-do-in-a-drought lawn.

Which, of course, led to reminiscing about Daisy the wee Bandersnatch.

Is it me, or does this photo look an awful lot like the photos taken today?

Crazy gleam in the wee monster's eyes.

Happy Barkday to Crazy Daisy, my co-worker (who gives me the answers when I get stuck), funny, sweet, nutty, reason why we got Lucy-Fur girl!

Fi's expression just kills me!

Project 365 - Day 205

I'll make day 205 a quickie, as Daisy's birthday was Day 206!

Day 205 - Saturday 24 July 2021

Pie n' Beer Day! (Or Pioneer Day. Or, our state holiday, and the second holiday weekend in July...)  We didn't really do much on the pie and beer front, or on the pioneer heritage front, for that matter.  I did mess around a bit with a filter to see if I could do something about the washed-out photos I get in bright sunlight.  The short answer is that a neutral density filter helps, but I wonder if a polarized filter (it's the equivalent of putting sunglasses on the camera) would better achieve what I'm trying to do.  So, of course, I've picked up an inexpensive polarized filter.  Stay tuned.

Project 365 - Days 201-204

A collection of photos from the week.

Tuesday July 20th - Day 201

Wednesday July 21st - Day 202

Some mornings the sunrise is just too good to not get a photo.  This has not been photoshopped in any way, BTW.

Thursday July 22nd - Day 203

Dorkadoodles.

With Daisy's 5th birthday coming up, and me still working on Fi's encyclopedia of photos, I've been looking at some of Daisy's puppy photos.  Completely crazy puppy. But cute.  Not much has changed!

Friday July 23rd - Day 204

I'm working on a class on small business brand photography - essentially photos that they can put on their websites, Instagram, etc., and my guinea pig is my favorite local pet store.  I went to talk with Heide today about my ideas (she's excited) and I just wanted to get some 'concept' photos - I just had my little camera with me (I was also there to buy dog food and pick up some stuff for Daisy's birthday) so these aren't really super special, but it was a good chance to look at my ideas with a camera to see what I need to light, and the angles I want to get.

The store carries a lot of local products, so I want to get photos of that.

Heide owns the store because she loves her dogs.

Environmentally friendly poop bags (we use these!)

Everything a person feeding raw food needs.

Shop dogs.

Project 365 - Days 197 - 200

Friday 16 July 2021 - Day 197

My first day back at the office in over 16 months.  I have to go in one day a week, and I picked Fridays with the assumption that the office would be quieter (all of the people I work for prefer Zoom meetings so they don't physically have to be at the School of Medicine to meet - they can be at one of a number of clinics around the area).  The commute wasn't too bad, and finding a spot in my designated parking garage was fairly civilized.

For some reason, Gary ended up with the Mustang last Friday and I got the BMW.  I prefer the Mustang, but the BMW isn't exactly a terrible ride!

Saturday 17 July 2021 - Day 198

I wasn't feeling wildly inspired this weekend, so when in doubt, break out a lens I haven't used in a while.  This was the 28mm f/1.8 lens that I have for some reason. (No idea why I bought it, but it can be sort of fun!)

Sunday 18 July 2021 - Day 199

And since one day is never enough to get the feel of a lens, I used it for another day.

Monday 19 July 2021 - Day 200

And why go with a sort-of wide angle lens when you can go crazy wide angle? Sometimes I just need something ridiculous.  (Or two ridiculous somethings!)

This should teach those 'flat Earth' people a thing or two!  Heehee!
