Yes, had I taken a few more test shots, so I could make adjustments with the lighting, this would have come out better.  In my defense, the test shots I did take were fine, but they were also sans doggies. More test shots would not have necessarily made the positioning of the doggies any better, as that was on-the-fly, so to speak.  Ah well.
